  Interface with Nexus NX2 Server
Posted by: BayBilly - February 11, 2008 11:34 - Forum: Hardware - Replies (17)

It appears through this forum that some of you are using GPSNavX/MacENC with the Nexus NX2 Server. I was wondering how this interface is set up. Are you able to run the Nexus Racing software on the MAC? Do you have to be running a PC simulator or can it work directly on the MAC OS. I was told the Virtual Port Nexus uses doesn't work on anything but a PC.

If I were to proceed GPSNavX/MacENC would be the primary navigator and the NEXUS navigator would be just a repeater.

Thanks
BB

Multiplexer hub and BT Mac connection
Posted by: Seeker - February 9, 2008 18:34 - Forum: MacENC & GPSNavX - Replies (3)

All, I see the same questions in a number of areas and feel bad for asking again, but..

I have Raymarine ST60 instrument series (Wind/Compass/Auto Pilot/Depth) and the Raymarine C80 plotter and GPS.

I just purchased the 4Kw Raymarine Radar and mount and intend to connect that to the C80 display as well.

I found the MacENC software and had to buy it because it is great! Now I have the desire to add the Bluetooth Multiplexer, AIS receiver (SR161) and antenna splitter to tie everything together and display the Radar/AIS/ and other instrument data on both the C80 and MacENC.

Am I missing anything?

Does anyone know how/if we can download waypoints on a MapSource Data card to MacENC with the Garmin USB Cardreader?

Thank you,

  NOAA ENC Downloads

The new Product Server (beta) for NOAA ENCs unfortunately provides ZIP files that do not properly expand on Mac OS X. So continue to use this site ("Proceed to NOAA ENC Downloads")

  USB GPS Magnet

>I lost my hard drive do to magnet in bottom of GPS.

Thanks for that alert. I've been lucky since I usually just toss it into a pocket of my laptop case.

Does anyone have suggestions for a safe way to carry or neutralize the magnet for transport?

  Charts for Tahiti and south?
Posted by: ginginsman - February 6, 2008 12:25 - Forum: General - Replies (1)

I've been digging around for charts to cover the Society Islands, Tuamotos, Gambier and the Marquesas Islands. Garmin and Maptech appear to cover that area. Jim Innes' collection does not. Any other pointers?

  NavX, a G4 Titanium, and?...
Posted by: dshepherd2 - February 5, 2008 20:53 - Forum: Hardware - Replies (1)

I have a Mac G4 Titanium, on which I've installed NavX and the BBS East Coast (USA) charts from the available dvd. Using the Keyspan serial adapter, I've been trying to sync up an admittedly very old Garmin 12XL, but it's not being recognised. Is this a case of the firmware in the handheld simply being too antiquated for the Mac and/or NavX to recognize it? I did follow Garmin tech's instructions about setting up the system configurations, etc. But, still nothing. (Note that I'm an electronics dummy, so any suggestions of soldering the freem wire to the flux capacitor, bypassing the hamalstaf valve, will be met with a blank 'huh?' look on my face...)

Would the USB 'hockey puck' unit available direct from NavX work with this set-up? Anyone familiar with it?

Sincere thanks, --DS

  AIS Server

HI I noticed that the AIS server from Sea Links is not working. That also means that are link in MAC ENC is off line. Do you know if they went out of business or are just upgrading there web page?
